I was so sad to hear that Ann Whitney had passed away. We attended Burbank Elementary School together and were in the same Brownie and Girl Scout troop. Her mom along with Mrs. Soash (Diane's mom) and Mrs. Van Brussel ( Julie's mom) were our Girl Scout leaders. We had many Girl Scout overnights, swim parties and cookouts with our friends. Ann was always sweet and quiet and a good friend to everyone. . I remember her being very smart and excelling in her school work.

My mom kept in touch with Mrs. Whitney for awhile; through her we learned that Ann was married and lived in the Oakland hills. In her 30s/40s, Ann was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Growing up, she lived across the street from me on Midlothian Drive, and we immediately became best friends when our family moved there when I was in 1st grade. We played with our Barbie dolls for hours and hours!

Ann was beatufull, soft, unassuming, a little shy, friendly, funny, easy to be around, and intelligent. Oten stopped by to see if she was home on my way to Rusty Hunter's house. Ann was my 2nd grade girlfriend. Sad that she passed so early in life.

From the moment I met her at Eliot Jr. High School, she was my best friend.  I'm shattered to learn she's gone.  She was the best of best friends, and the memories I have of her will last forever!
