My first day in first grade at Burbank Elementary I saw a beautifull girl with snowlike hair and was smitten. I walked her home that day and we remained friends. Rest in Peace dear Julie.

I met Julie in Mr Berries fourth grade class at Luther Burbank Elementary School. Shortly there after we became lifelong friends until her untimely death two years ago. We were in the same Girl Scout troop, loved going shopping and cruising the neighborhood in our parents cars. The two of us spent countless hours with pints of ice cream sitting on her bed discussing our latest high school crush. We spent every Easter break on Balboa Island along with the rest of the crowd including Cindy Doty Grush, Marnia Kennon, Sally Crum and Jane Sinaigo. In high school we were both on Drill Team practicing our routines and riding the bus together to all of the games and competitions. As adults we kept in touch talking on the phone discussing our children, our husbands, our adult joys and sorrows as well as our problems. We loved reminiscing about our high school days at PHS and old friends. Even after I moved to Pennsylvania in 1984 we kept in touch. My heart was broken when she so suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.

Julie had two beautiful children, John and Dana. Both were married and were expecting their first child when Julie passed away. She never got to meet her three grandchildren .

I still miss her beautiful smile and giggly laugh and just knowing I can pick up the phone to call her and say, "Hello"

As Tom and Irith have observed, Julie was good and simply effervescent. And so, a memorable friend at PHS.
