I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We went all through school together, from Field Elementary, Marshall, and on to PHS. Mike was always such a nice, nice guy. So pleasant, helpful and personable. I believe the last time a saw him was at one of the reunions about 20 or 30 years ago. I am sorry we lost touch after that, but I will always remember him fondly. RIP my friend!
We knew each other primarily as members of the water polo and swim teams (competing in the same stroke). We somehow linked up through email in 2013, with this evolving into occasional correspondence through Facebook. It was great seeing him at the 50-year reunion.
Mike was a really, really nice guy. Even if you knew he was pissed off about something, he was still a nice guy. Perhaps this quality contributed to his focus on writing poetry later in life.
